The Groton Historical Society and the Groton Recreation Committee are pleased to invite Groton residents as well as residents of other towns with an interest in the history of Groton, Vermont to join them for a fun-filled Road Rally History Hunt on Saturday, September 23, 2017 starting at 9:30 AM at the Groton Community Building.
What is a Road Rally History Hunt?
Teams will compete to find specific locations of historical or geographical significance to the town. Clues will be provided for the specific locations along with a map listing an array of sites throughout the town. Families and participants of all ages are encouraged to participate! The winning team will not only have identified and visited the appropriate locations based on the clues provided but will also need to determine the shortest route to the various spots. Odometer readings will be captured at the beginning of the event as well as at the end of the event to determine the winner.
Whether or not you choose to participate in the Rally, everyone is invited to join us at Veterans Park in Groton after the Rally starting at 12:00 PM for a musical performance by the Strawberry Farm Band, a chicken barbecue hosted by the Groton Fire Department, as well as pie, snacks, drinks, treats and surprises!
